Yahoo Autos Police Take Down Fleeing Hellcat Using This Simple Trick

As we’ve covered before, police don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of catching a fleeing Dodge Hellcat unless the driver wrecks out or the gas tank runs dry. The Mopar muscle cars are simply too fast, allowing competent drivers to put serious distance between them and cops in no time.
Mustang owner just can’t handle a Ferrari.
But New Mexico State Police used a simple trick to catch this Dodge Charger Hellcat in Albuquerque, leaving the suspect driver and his yappy girlfriend confused and outraged. These two seem to not understand police helicopters are a thing, so they had no idea one was tracking their every move from up above.
That’s right, NMSP had a helicopter recording the fleeing Hellcat, directing officers on the ground to the classy entertainment club where these two parked and acted like nothing happened.
You can see in the bodycam portion of the video we’ve included the guy acts confused like he doesn’t know why police are there. But the girlfriend, who obviously has the IQ of a hamster, immediately starts saying it was her driving the Hellcat, not him.
She really doesn’t help with his whole confused innocent act.
Of course, he shows his stupidity by believing “pleading the Fifth” means he doesn’t have to tell cops his name or hand over his driver’s license. But he tries arguing with the officer while he’s getting Mirandized. This doesn’t help improve the overall image of Dodge Charger owners, sadly.
None of that matters anyway because the whole fleeing incident is recorded and admissible in court. Even Saul Goodman couldn’t spin this case into mistaken identity.
The girlfriend doesn’t know when to quit, arguing with cops and explaining how she wanted to go to the adult entertainment and somehow that meant they had the wrong Dodge Charger Hellcat. She’s a junkyard dog, although we’re pretty sure actual junkyard dogs are far more intelligent.
