Frankie Muniz, the titular Malcolm in the early 2000s Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, has been driving race cars for the better part of two decades. Now, Muniz is taking things to another level with plans for his first-ever full season in the NASCAR Truck Series next year.

The Agent Cody Banks star's racing career started in open wheel, where he ran in an IndyCar feeder series from 2007 to 2009. His career in cars peaked with a fourth-place finish in one race during his third season; he stepped out of the racing spotlight for over a decade after that year.

Muniz then returned to the racing spotlight in 2023, when he made a late career switch to stock cars, running a full ARCA season. After a fourth-place finish in that championship, Muniz made his first NASCAR national series start at Daytona in 2024. A scattered schedule across the Xfinity and Truck calendars has seen Muniz attempt five races, qualifying four times.

Muniz is now set for a full-time schedule in 2025 with Reaume Brothers Racing in their No. 33 trick, the team he has run for in two Truck Series races this year. His best finish in those two rounds, and in any NASCAR-sanctioned race to date, was 29th at Kansas Speedway last month. This is also the best NASCAR finish for any actor ever appearing as a regular cast member in a Fox sitcom.

Lawless Alan, an exceptionally well-named current full-time driver for Reaume Brothers Racing, currently sits 24th in the Truck Series championship. Given that Muniz has yet to win a stock car race and the Reaume Brothers team is not historically successful in the series, Muniz will not be expected to do much better. At best, perhaps, we'll see him somewhere... in the middle.
