Cadillac V-Series.R Going Pink for Petit Le MansCadillac

Last month, in honor of Pink Cadillac Day (yes, it's a thing), Cadillac Racing designed a special pink livery for its 01 V-Series R endurance racer. The car wearing that outfit never touched the track, however; rather, it was relegated to show car status for attendees at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas. That changes for IMSA’s final race of the season, however — as Cadillac announced on Thursday that the 01 V-Series.R will be racing this weekend in pink.

The Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta kicks off competition with qualifying on Friday, followed by the 10-hour race on Saturday. Scott Dixon, Sebastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande will share the pink 01 V-Series.R. And this time, the car is pink for more than just a made-up holiday: Cadillac says it’s racing in the shade to support the American Cancer Society and the fight against breast cancer.

Cadillac’s Instagram post will be the catalyst for donations. The brand says that, for every share of the post to someone’s Instagram story with the hashtag #WeDriveFor, Caddy will donate $5 to the American Cancer Society. If it’s shared enough – you have through the end of October – Cadillac says it will donate up to $170,000.

You’ll be able to catch the pink Cadillac in action when Petit Le Mans starts at noon on Saturday. The racing will be airing partially on NBC and USA, but it's available in its entirety on Peacock or IMSA TV.
