Yahoo Autos Bugatti Biopic in Development by ‘Ferrari’ and ‘Lamborghini’ Producer

A new biopic is in development that will chronicle the life and career of Ettore Bugatti, the visionary Italian-French automobile designer and founder of Bugatti. Andrea Iervolino, producer of Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend and the upcoming Maserati biopic, is set to bring Bugatti’s story to the big screen. The untitled film will delve into Ettore Bugatti’s revolutionary automotive designs, the tragedy of his son Jean’s death, and the brand’s legacy beyond supercars, including its ventures into airplane motors, bicycles, and even a Dubai skyscraper.
Filming for the English-language project is expected to begin late next year in Italy and France. Although casting details and a release date remain under wraps, fans can anticipate a film that celebrates Bugatti’s passion for innovation and the brand's significant achievements, such as winning the first Monaco Grand Prix in 1929 and twice winning Le Mans. Bugatti’s lasting influence in the automotive world was further recognized when Ettore was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2000.
Following the success of Ferrari and Lamborghini, Iervolino aims to capture another automotive legend with Bugatti, continuing his exploration of icons who shaped car culture. This biopic promises to highlight the triumphs, challenges, and emotional depth behind the Bugatti marque, a legacy that extends far beyond automobiles.
In the meantime, Iervolino’s next project, Maserati: The Brothers, will premiere in October 2025. Directed by Bobby Moresco and starring Michele Morrone and Anthony Hopkins, the film will focus on the Maserati brothers and their pioneering journey in automotive engineering.
