Yahoo Autos 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander Drops Price, Adds Nightshade Model
The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander adds a new base LE trim, bringing the starting price down by nearly $2500 to land at $42,310. The LE trim can be optioned with the standard engine in FWD or AWD or with the Grand Highlander Hybrid's 2.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors.
The Grand Highlander also gains a new Nightshade trim that adds black accents to the grille, mirror caps, and wheels.
2025 Grand Highlander Platinum models will be out by the new year, and LE models are coming in the first half of next year.
The larger of the two sets of Toyota Highlander mid-size SUV twins (that would be the Grand Highlander and Grand Highlander Hybrid) just got cheaper for 2025. That's thanks to a new LE trim, which slots below the previous entry XLE model from last year. The new LE model starts at $42,310, making it $2460 cheaper than last year's entry model. For the hybrid version, the base price is down $870 from 2024, to start at $45,660.
The LE can be ordered with the Grand Highlander's standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder in either front- or all-wheel-drive configurations, or with the non-Max hybrid system. Choosing the hybrid LE brings the price up to $45,660. The XLE trim returns for 2025 with a minor price increase bringing it to $45,080.
Toyota has also added a $54,060 Nightshade trim to the Grand Highlander for the first time. The new trim is built on the GH Hybrid's Limited model, meaning it's powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors that send a combined 245 horsepower through the all-wheel-drive system.
The Nightshade adds black accents for the door handles, badging, grille, mirror caps, and wheels. The interior is adorned with all the same amenities as the regular Limited model but adds an 11-speaker JBL Audio system at no extra cost.
The Hybrid Max models are back for the Limited and Platinum trims. They start at $56,140 and $60,225, respectively. Both models pair a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor for a combined 362 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
Changes are rounded out by two new exterior paint options (Cement and Heavy Metal) and a standard removable second-row console on all captain's-chairs-equipped trims except the LE.
Platinum models are expected to start arriving just before the new year, with LE models expected in the first half of 2025.
