  • The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 is making the lightweight Weissach available on the standard GT3, which features lightweight wheels, more carbon-fiber pieces, and a special interior.

  • The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 Touring are making their reveals together, for the first time.

  • Porsche says the 911 GT3 is expected to hit dealerships next summer, but orders will start before the end of 2024 with a $224,495 starting price.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is getting some updates for the 2025 model year that might make Porsche collectors happy.

For ’25, Porsche is adding its special Weissach package to the option sheet for the first time, is shortening the final drive ratios of both transmissions by 8%, and is sticking with the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine.

Porsche is also launching the GT3 Touring alongside its more hardcore GT3 variant, which is a first for the pair.

Powering both versions of the 911 GT3 is still the aforementioned 4.0-liter flat-six engine. Even while sporting gas particulate filters, this naturally aspirated six-cylinder sends 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission or the seven-speed PDK.

For those who care about revolutions, this flat-six can spin all the way to 9,000 RPM. Taking advantage of that high engine speed, the final drive ratio of both transmissions (reduced by 8%) should help this pair of 911s accelerate harder.

This GT3 can sprint to 60 mph from a standing start in only 3.2 seconds with a PDK, or 3.7 seconds with the stick. The PDK-equipped cars will run out of steam at 193 mph, with the manual-equipped machines running all the way to 195 mph.

The big, expensive, star of this 911 GT3’s update is the available Weissach package. Formerly sequestered to more sporting variants like the GT3 RS, the Weissach package includes a set of optional magnesium wheels, CFRP pieces, and a lithium-ion lightweight battery.

Those CFRP bits include the rear axle shear panel, anti-roll bar, and coupling rods, as well as exterior mirror shells, mirror triangles, wing side plates, and the roof panel.

This package also includes CFRP interior door panels, as well as a Race-Tex covering on the dashboard, and Race-Tex and leather upholstery on the seats and other surfaces.

If you want some of these pieces but also want the GT3 Touring, Porsche has that covered, too. The Lightweight package includes most of the CFRP bits, though it is missing the CFRP wing side plates. This package also includes the shorter shifter on manual-equipped cars from the 911 S/T. Magnesium wheels are also available with this lightweight package.

As for the major styling changes heading to the refreshed 992 911 GT3, you’ll find a new front and rear diffuser, new headlamps, and a revised rear decklid.

While these styling changes might be minor, hawk-eyed Porsche fans should be able to spot the difference between this model and its predecessor by its missing bumper lights, which have been integrated into the new headlamps.

This is all good news for the 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 Touring, but there might be some bad news: The ’25 911 GT3 will start at $224,495 when it goes on sale later this year.

That’s dangerously close to the more potent 911 GT3 RS, which starts at $244,995 and is significantly more expensive than the 2023 911 GT3 models, which started at $184,550.

Porsche says these machines are headed to dealerships in the summer of 2025.
