  • The 2025 Lexus LX 700h still uses the 3.4-liter turbocharged V6 from the LX 600 but adds an electric motor between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission.

  • The 2025 Lexus LX 700h makes a combined 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, which is a net addition of 48 hp and 104 lb-ft of torque.

  • Lexus says the ’25 Lexus LX 700h is scheduled to start hitting dealers at the beginning of 2025.

If you are curious about why the flagship Lexus LX 600 hasn’t reaped the benefits of Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system, meet the LX 700h.

Effectively the LX 600 with a hybrid powertrain stuffed under the shell, Lexus devotees and off-road enthusiasts should be looking forward to a minor bump in fuel economy and over 100 more lb-ft of torque. Lexus says that the LX 700h is heading to dealers in the early part of 2025.

The i-Force Max powertrains found in Toyota Tundra trucks and Toyota Sequoia start life with the 3.4-liter turbocharged V6 making 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. That V6 sports a is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Between the 10-speed automatic and the V6 is an electric motor that adds 48 hp and 104 lb-ft of extra oomph to the spec sheet and brings the total figures to 457 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. Powering this electric motor is a nickel-metal hydride battery that’s mounted at the rear of the vehicle, which made the company relocate the spare tire. This hybrid powertrain is good for an increase of 1 mpg combined, according to Lexus, which pushes the LX 700h to 20 mpg combined.

After leaving the 10-speed automatic, power then hits the standard Torsen limited-slip locking center differential from which power is diverted to the drive axles and the wheels. This locking center diff allows for a 50:50 torque split, which could help you out of a slippery situation. If you need more chops, the Overtrail trim adds front and rear electronically locking differentials.

Adding even more off-road tools to its toolkit, the ’25 LX 700h comes standard with Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension, which Lexus says should make transitioning from off-road events to paved streets more seamless. The Overtrail again takes it a step further with a skid plate in the front and a set of 33-inch tires wrapping 18-inch alloy wheels.

Naturally, this luxury off-roader won’t sacrifice interior comfort for the sake of off-roading chops. Inside the LX 700h’s cabin, you’ll find essentially the same interior as its non-hybrid sibling.

When optioned with the semi-aniline leather, your seats will sport five massage options. There’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen media system fixed to the dashboard, which also features another 7.0-inch touchscreen below it. But, again, this is basically the same interior as the LX 600. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also making their respective ways to the media system, too.

Lexus says this rides on a new frame, despite still sporting the TNGA-F platform. This new frame features three cross members to better accommodate the extra heft from the hybrid system.

Dimensionally, the LX 700h predictably carries about the same footprint as its LX 600 sibling. The LX 700h is 200.79 inches long, which is 0.2 inches longer than the LX 600. Width and height are the same at 78.35 inches wide and 74.21 or 74.61 inches tall depending on wheel and tire choice. And, of course, the wheelbase is the same 112.2-inches found on the LX 600.

Lexus says you can expect these to hit dealers early in 2025 as a 2025 model-year vehicle. Pricing isn’t available, yet, but you can expect there will be a sizable bump from the LX 600’s $93,915 base price.
