MMA fighter Austin Vanderford has opened up about his naked isolation adventures with wife and UFC star Paige VanZant.

VanZant and Vanderford have been delighting their fans on social media over the last few weeks while stuck at home amid the coronavirus crisis.

The MMA stars have posted a number of photos showing them working out, gardening, cooking and just relaxing.

However the photos are all missing one key detail - clothes.

Vanderford has now opened up about what life is like in isolation with VanZant and why they decided to document their risque adventures.

“My wife and I have been called ‘The Van Nudists’ during lockdown and it is definitely appropriate,” he told The Telegraph.

“We decided to have a bit of fun at home in isolation in Portland, Oregon and get nude during this period.

“It has got a bit wild at times, but we have been making it tasteful on our social media.

“Every day we tried to come up with something new, whether we were working out, naked meal planning and cooking, gardening, out on the balcony, or just lounging about. We are having fun with it, for sure.”

Vanderford said being naked is pretty normal for him as he grew up in the country in Alaska.

He also said VanZant is very comfortable in her own skin, pointing to her photoshoot with Sports Illustrated as an example.

Dark side to posting risque photos

The couple’s photos have sparked some unwanted attention however, with VanZant recently slamming a number of fans for sending her inappropriate messages after sharing her phone number on social media.

The flyweight fighter followed Maria Sharapova’s lead in joining tech app ‘Community’ in an attempt to reach out to fans during the coronavirus pandemic.

VanZant, who has 2.4 million followers on Instagram, shared her number and promised to reply to every response.

Just a few hours later ZanZant had been inundated with messages - some of which were highly inappropriate.

“I'm trying to get through all your text messages and replying to everyone,” she posted in an update.

“I'm having a lot of fun chatting to you - minus the three d*** pics. Not happy.”

VanZant has a 5-3 record in UFC but her career has been plagued by injuries.

She suffered her third arm fracture in 2019 and has been battling to get back in the Octagon ever since.
