'He was my Tiger': Golf great's mistress opens up about affair

Rachel Uchitel, the woman at the centre of Tiger Woods’ infamous 2009 sex scandal, has spoken out about the fallout from her ill-fated romance to the then-married golf superstar.

The 45-year-old is part of an upcoming Tiger Woods documentary slated for release later in January which delves into all aspects of the golfing icon’s career - including his troubled life off the links.

Uchitel was the first of what turned out to be dozens of women Woods had cheated on while with his wife, Elin Nordegren, with throughout their six-year marriage.

The scandal plunged Woods into serious trouble, with the once superstar golfer abandoned by sponsors and suffering on the course as a result.

Woods has since made a consistent effort to reclaim some of his public standing, even playing a recent tournament with his son Charlie, which was attended by Nordegren and his now partner, Erica Herman.

His 2019 US Masters win restored his status among the golfing elite, but Uchitel’s line opening the trailer for the upcoming series Tiger will be a stark reminder of his decisions back then.

“Here he was in my bed … and he was my Tiger,” Uchitel’s opening line goes in the trailer.

Uchitel went on the Juicy Scoop podcast earlier in September, where she discussed the saga and how Woods had been able to revive his reputation.

“Tiger gets to win awards or win his different tournaments. He gets to come out of things and have mishaps, and get up again, and people want to cheer for him,” she said.

“But the women don‘t get that so much, not just with him but with any scandal, and that’s not really fair. And I just felt like I needed to be able to have a voice finally.

“Because it’s been a really hard 10 years of having to just sit there and let people, in the absence of truth, let people say things about me and also just let people talk about me like they know me because they don’t.

“That’s a really hurtful way to live. It hasn’t been easy, ya know. So I decided to speak.”

The two-part documentary, which will air on Foxtel, also delves into Woods’ relationship with his father, Earl.

Greg Norman again hospitalised with Covid-19

Golf great Greg Norman has returned to hospital for further COVID-19 treatment, saying he's never felt so sick.

The 65-year-old was initially admitted to hospital in Florida on Christmas Day where he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

The former world No.1, rated as one of Australia's greatest-ever golfers, posted on Instagram that he had returned for further treatment.

He said he was getting an anti-body infusion and hoped to only stay the day, adding that the symptoms of the "hideous virus" had hit hard.

"I am fit and strong and have a high tolerance for pain but this virus kicked the crap out of me like nothing I have ever experienced before," Norman posted.

"Muscle and joint pain on another level. Headaches that feel like a chisel going through your head scrapping little bits off each time, fever, muscles that just did not want to work like yesterday walking my dog Apollo my quads and hip flexors just did not want to work due to fatigue."

The two-time British Open winner said he'd lost his sense of taste and was struggling to remember names and words, while he also felt irritation.
