Nick Kyrgios has lashed out after being compared to Bernard Tomic, describing the comparison as 'disgusting'.

Kyrgios took to social media on Tuesday with a furious rant, saying he'd never been more insulted.

The 26-year-old pointed to his charity work with the Nick Kyrgios Foundation and the money he helped raise for those affected by Australia's bushfires at the start of 2020 as reasons why the comparison is invalid.

He also made mention of Tomic's relationship with OnlyFans star Vanessa Sierra, as well as his own record against tennis' 'Big 4'.

“I got compared with Bernard Tomic today and I’ve never felt more insulted," Kyrgios wrote on Instagram.

“Does he have a foundation? Does he have the accomplishments?

“Did he raise money for the bushfires? It’s disgusting man.

“Do your research, also I ain’t f***ing with anyone who does OnlyFans.

“Oh and by accomplishments (I beat the big 4).”

While Kyrgios has never reached the heights that many predicted when he burst onto the scene, his record against the greats of the game is remarkable.

He is 2-0 against World No.1 Novak Djokovic, has three wins over Rafael Nadal (including his famous victory over the Spaniard at Wimbledon in 2014), and has also beaten Roger Federer and Andy Murray.

Kyrgios didn't mention who had made the comparison, but it clearly didn't sit well with him.

Kyrgios and Tomic have an interesting chequered history, with Nick taking aim at his former Davis Cup teammate's girlfriend at the Australian Open.

Kyrgios slammed Sierra in February after she complained about the hotel quarantine conditions players and their entourages were experiencing in Melbourne.

“I don't mind Bernie but his Mrs obviously has no perspective, ridiculous scenes," Kyrgios tweeted at the time.

Nick Kyrgios to return in time for Wimbledon

Meanwhile, Kyrgios will reportedly make his return to the ATP Tour in the lead-up to Wimbledon in June.

The controversial Aussie hasn't played since the Australian Open, opting to remain at home rather than travel overseas due to COVID-19 concerns.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Kyrgios will play the grass-court season commencing in June, most likely returning at the Stuttgart Open.

Kyrgios admitted after his Australian Open exit that he wasn't interested in playing at events where fans aren't allowed.

"I don't know how I'll [play if I] have to quarantine overseas in tournaments," he said.

"For me personally, I'm used to playing in front of packed stadiums.

"I'm not gonna force myself around the world when the time is not right where I have to quarantine for a week and then play.

"I don't know. I'm not too sure what lies head. That's just not me. I just don't think it's right. I'm not gonna force myself to play."
