Ugly Margaret Court twist in Sam Stosur's baby announcement
Margaret Court has copped a brutal serve despite not even commenting on Sam Stosur’s wonderful baby news.
Stosur became a mother for the first time last month, announcing partner Liz Astling gave birth to a baby girl.

Stosur said she and Astling welcomed baby Genevieve into the world on June 16.
“Life in lockdown during coronavirus has been challenging in many ways but personally it's been one of the most exciting and happy times of my life,” Stosur wrote.
“It has been a whirlwind time but we could not imagine life without her now.
“Mum and Evie are doing well and it's so amazing to be home with them both.
“We are absolutely in love with this little bundle and rolling with the happy chaos. We can't wait for what's to come and to watch little Evie grow up....Although not too quickly we hope.”
It was also one of the few times that Stosur has publicly acknowledged her relationship with Astling, sparking an outpouring of support from the tennis community.
However many were quick to point out that Court might not be too happy about it considering her previous comments about same-sex marriage and tennis being “full of lesbians.”
News Corp writer Claire Harvey took a dig at Court while discussing Stosur’s announcement.
“And lo – she was not struck down by a bolt of lightning. The nation’s family structure has not crumbled as a result of her announcement,” Harvey wrote.
“Impressionable young tennis fans have not suddenly been drawn into contemplation of new sexual identities.
“Leading homophobe Margaret Court no doubt began melting into her Volleys, and is presumably rolling a sheet of A4 into her Olivetti right now to fire off an angry letter to the editor about it.”
Court’s previous comments about same-sex relationships sparked uproar and led to Stosur suggesting players might boycott Margaret Court Arena at the Australian Open.
“Even when I was playing there was only a couple (lesbians) there but those couple that lead … took young ones into parties and things,” she previously said.
“And because they liked to be around heroes and what you get at the top is often what you will get right through that sport.”
Court has also made disparaging remarks about transgender children.

Sam Stosur opens up on coming out
Over the weekend Stosur opened up about the life-changing decision to go public with her relationship.
Stosur said she was composing herself in the carpark after winning the Tennis Australia Spirit of Tennis Award at the annual John Newcombe Medal event in 2019 when she wanted to show proper recognition to her partner.
“I was in the car park at the end of the night and something just didn’t feel right because I’d thanked all these people who were obviously very, very important to me, but not my partner,” Stosur told Channel Nine.
“And she is a huge part of what I’ve been able to do. And who I am now. And that just didn’t sit well with me. And I thought, ‘Do you know what? Bugger this, I just want to thank her and I want to do this’.
“So that’s why I put it on Instagram.
“As you get older and you’re more mature and you reflect more on things and I thought, you know what, this is who I am.”
Stosur had rarely spoken publicly about her relationship with Astling but thanked her partner after winning the award.
“To my Mum, Dad, … and my partner Liz, you have given me the love, support and every opportunity to pursue my dream and I’ll be forever grateful,” she wrote on social media at the time.
