Naomi Osaka has put on a brutal display in the Miami Open quarter-final to power past fellow power-hitter Danielle Collins.

Having entered the Miami Open after a dramatic Indian Wells exit, Osaka has looked in strong form.

And the four-time grand slam champion appears to be only getting better every round as she obliterated Collins 6-2, 6-1.

Osaka went on to rattle off five games in a row to take the opening set against Collins who had no answers after an intense start.

She went on to hit 25 winners, and only three unforced errors, to take the match in sensational fashion.

The win marks Osaka's best result at a tournament since the 2021 Australian Open.

Osaka hasn't featured in a WTA 1000 semi-final since Cincinnati 2020.

Naomi Osaka advances to her 1st Miami Open SF and biggest since winning the 2021 Australian Open.

This is Osaka’s 1st WTA 1000 SF since winning 2020 Cincinnati.

Osaka has now won 9 of her last 10 QFs.

Osaka said she focused on her returning during the match against the hard-hitting American.

"I'm glad I was able to get through quickly. I focused on trying to hit a lot of really good returns," Osaka, who fired 13 aces in the match, said.

Including her remarkable ace count, Osaka struck a total of 25 winners to just three unforced errors against Collins.

Osaka started the event World No.77, but would finish inside the Top 30 if she wins the Miami Open title.

Collins will still move up a career-high World No.8 ranking.
