'Not true': Wally Lewis responds to bombshell affair claims
Rugby league icon Wally Lewis was reportedly involved in a long-running affair that led to the recent end of the 61-year-old’s marriage to former wife Jacqui.
Lewis announced the end of the couple’s 36-year marriage in a statement released on his behalf by Channel 9 earlier this week.

“Wally and Jacqui Lewis separated last year after 36 years of marriage,” the statement read.
“It has been a difficult time for everyone in the family and they are still working through the details of the separation.”
However, a scandalous report published by the Courier Mail has shed light on an ongoing affair Lewis maintained for several years, which continued even after he was confronted about it by his now ex-partner.
The report claims the couple’s three children, Lincoln, Mitch, and Jaime-Lee, are furious at their father with the former refusing to speak to him.
Lewis was reportedly shocked recently to learn Jackie had placed their home on the market.
The league great and Channel 9 newsreader told the Courier Mail it was a ‘private and sensitive matter’.
“I have been at pains to say that our family as much as we are public figures ask that our privacy at this sad time be respected,” he told the newspaper via text message.
“We cannot control gossip but we know the true facts and much of this is simply not true.
“I will not be making any comments about this very private and sensitive matter.”
Details emerge about Wally Lewis’ affair
While Lewis referred to ‘another relationship’ in the precisely-worded statement issued by Channel 9, his romance with volunteer worker and writer Lynda Adams reportedly gone on for some time before Lewis’ split from Jackie.
The 61-year-old Lewis said it has been a difficult time for the family.
“This is a deeply personal matter that we do not want to discuss publicly, but I want to acknowledge the pain and upset my family has gone through since Jacqui and I separated last year,” Lewis said.
“I hope over time we can rebuild our ties and move on with life.
“I will confirm I am now in another relationship and only ask for the media to respect our privacy.”
