The final day of the Premier League offered up crazy drama as Liverpool and Chelsea secured a Champions League spot after a 'strange season', while Leicester fell short of a Top 4 finish in devastating fashion.

Liverpool qualified for Champions League football, despite sitting outside of qualification for the back half of the season, after defeating Crystal Palace 2-0 at Anfield with a Sadio Mane brace to finish third.

The Reds were helped after Leicester suffered late agony as their goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel fisted into his own net in the 87th minute and then Gareth Bale completed Spurs' turnaround with his second of the game at the King Power Stadium in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could afford a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa to still end up fourth after Leicesters defeat.

Players and fans reacted with a mixture of emotions.

Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara and Man United striker Marcus Rashford labelled the season a 'strange' one, while others lauded Liverpool's end of season run to secure a CL spot.
