Michael Clarke rejects NRL club's bold recruitment move
The Wests Tigers have reportedly sent former Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke an SOS to join the board.
Looking to turn around results from the last few years, the Tigers have finished 9th in three of the last four seasons and have failed to play finals footy since 2011, the board are reportedly seeking a change.

Clarke who is an avid Tigers supporter was contacted in an attempt to lure him to join the club’s board, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
But the former Aussie cricket captain, who is tied up with work on Sky Racing’s Big Sports Breakfast radio show, said he had to turn down the offer.
"I love the Tigers and I would love to see them do well, just unfortunately right now I can't say yes to a position like that," Clarke told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“If the time is right I'd be more than happy to do it.
“I just don't think it would be fair to take up an opportunity like that and then let people down with how busy I am at the moment. That's not me.”
The Tigers are sitting in 10th position in 2020, but were handed a flogging at the hands of the Knights on the weekend.
Tigers handed drubbing
The Knights advanced to a 24-4 halftime lead before completing a 40-point rout against the Tigers on the weekend.
In all the Knights scored eight tries with Hymel Hunt, Starford To'a, Jacob Saifiti, Herman Ese'ese, Gehamat Shibasaki and Phoenix Crossland also crossing over.
Tigers coach Michael Maguire was left to rue seven errors in the first half that caused most of the damage.
"I think our completion rate was around 55 per cent, and if you're going to do that in first grade, especially when you've got a team that's performing at 95 per cent, they just keep the ball," he said.
"We were turning it over in early passages of play and it was down our end.
"They capitalised and hurt us."
