'Be honest': Cameron Smith slammed over 'delusional' claims
Paul Kent has unleashed on the Melbourne Storm and Cameron Smith over keeping his playing future under a cloud as the 2020 season comes to a close.
In a recent interview, Smith claimed outside noise from Sydney media got to the Storm ahead of last year’s push to the Grand Final.

Previously, the Storm have grown frustrated of questions being raised over their tackling techniques almost routinely late in the season and King’s three-match ban has again raised those talks.
Furthermore, Cameron Smith said he would have no qualms delaying a call on his NRL future until after this year's grand final but says any decision is not reliant on going out a winner.
But Kent, co-host on Fox Sports NRL 360, launched into the Storm for living in an AFL city and not the real world.
“I don’t think they live in the real world, Melbourne,” Kent said.
“Cameron said in the interview today, for example, was that there was no time frame set, that he hoped to speak to Craig Bellamy at some point in the year about what would happen about his future but they never got around to it.
“Craig Bellamy went to him and tried to get an idea of what he was thinking and he put it this way, to not insult him, ‘we need to know what you’re doing because if this is going to be your last year, we want to celebrate it properly’. Cameron laughed it off and walked away. So I would call that a fib.”
Kent claims youngsters wouldn’t push Smith
Kent took aim at Smith for referencing his No.9 understudies at the club.
The NRL's games record holder insists he is not being pushed by the Storm or understudies Brandon Smith and Harry Grant to make a call.
But Kent said he is ‘delusional’ to think the young guns would put pressure on him to leave.
“Please, it’s delusional. Even Brandon Smith – Brandon Smith has not got the gumption to walk up to Cameron and say, ‘mate can you hurry up and make a decision so I can figure out what I’m doing?’”
“His manager has come out and said if Cameron plays on they might seek a release, Harry Grant has got a clause in his contract saying he can seek a release.”
The Storm will play the Eels in week one of the finals after finishing second and third respectively on the NRL ladder.
