Novak Djokovic's incredible act of kindness that you didn't see

Long after the TV cameras had stopped rolling, Novak Djokovic produced an amazing gesture for a complete stranger.

The World No.1 was in a generous mood after claiming a record seventh Australian Open crown on Sunday night.

Immediately after the match he gave away his match racquet to a diehard fan decked out in Serbian gear.

He then asked a young Aussie ballboy if he’d like to hold the trophy while they were posing for photos on court.

Not done there, Djokovic then went from Rod Laver Arena across to Margaret Court Arena, where thousands of adoring fans had been watching the final on the big screen.

Djokovic signed autographs and met with fans who couldn’t get tickets to watch him live in the adjacent arena.

But his most remarkable act came just after that.

As he was walking from Margaret Court Arena to his post-match media commitments, Djokovic spotted a fan who wanted an autograph.

Djokovic had the pen already, but the young man didn’t have anything for the tennis star to autograph.

As you can see in the video at the top, Djokovic initially walked away from the man before stopping, signing the front of his own jacket, walking back and gifting it to the shocked fan.

So there you go, he’d literally give you the jacket off his own back.

Djokovic’s 6-3 6-2 6-3 mauling of Rafael Nadal was the Serb’s fourth-straight grand slam win over his great rival and left the world No.1 a French Open title shy of a historic, second non-calendar-year sweep of the majors.

Djokovic and Nadal have now clashed 53 times, with the Serb leading the epic series 28-25.
