'Finally someone said it': Footy wife rips rivals after heartfelt plea
Kelly Stafford, wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, has let rip at rival NFL stars after an impassioned speech from JJ Watt earlier in the week.
JJ Watt, one of the all-time great NFL defensive stars, delivered a heartfelt speech after the Houston Texans’ 37-31 loss to the Bengals.

The 31-year-old implored his squad to do better as he felt ‘bad’ for the fans who have shown loyalty during these difficult times.
Watt’s speech resonated with many in the NFL community and one such person was Kelly Stafford.
According to ESPN reporter Michael Rothstein, she took to Instagram and reposted a photo of Watt, which included the caption: “Finally someone said it.”
“If you don’t wanna do it...Don’t worry, someone else will replace you real quick.”

Unfortunately, the Detroit Lions have also struggled this season.
After firing head coach Matt Patricia, a new direction has seen rumours surface around Stafford’s place in the squad.
Watts’ empowering speech
Watt’s post-match interview made waves in the NFL community during a time when millions in the US are struggling with the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
“There are people every week that still greet you, that still come up to you and say: ‘hey we’re still we’re still rooting for you, we’re still behind you,” Watt said during his speech.

“They have no reason whatsoever to. We stink! But they care, and they still want to win and they still want you to be great. That’s why (we need to be better in the final match of the season).
“Those people aren’t getting paid, we’re getting paid handsomely. That’s why.”
Watt paused for a brief moment before acknowledging why this was important to him: “That’s who I feel the most bad for is our fans.”
“The people who care so deeply in the city and the people who love it and truly want it to be great. And it’s not. And that sucks as a player, to know that we’re not giving them what they deserve.”
