'Gloves were loaded': Tyson Fury at centre of 'cheating' conspiracy

There have been some excuses to why the ‘Gypsy King’ outclassed American Deontay Wilder in their rematch bout in February, but some boxing fans have produced a new theory questioning Tyson Fury’s gloves.

Fury dominated Wilder in their Las Vegas rematch, brutally inflicting the first defeat of the American's professional career with a seventh round TKO triumph.

‘DISGUSTING’: Boxing world erupts over Tyson Fury's 'sick' act

While Wilder has alluded to his heavy suit being a factor to why his legs were heavy in the opening rounds of the fight, fans have questioned why Fury’s gloves were flapping in punches.

Some images show the front of Fury’s gloves flapping when he makes contact with Wilder.

Sceptics have suggested Fury’s gloves may have been loaded, alleging something could have been placed inside the gloves to harden them up.

Fury’s camp respond to allegations

Fury’s cutman Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran denied the claims in an interview with Boxing Social.

"I'll give you the facts, the Nevada State Athletic Commission is one of the best commission in the world," he said.

"They handle the gloves until it's time to put them on. There was no tampering whatsoever. I was there. It's just a big myth.

"It didn't happen. That's why you have the inspectors there to make sure everything is followed within the guidelines. None of that happened, but it's good for discussion.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn also shot down the theory and said it would be a disadvantage to Fury if his fists were not tightly-fitted into the gloves.

"I think he used an illegal glove... not!" Hearn told Boxing Social.

"I dunno really, bit weird. But if you've got your hand halfway in a glove, what benefit is that actually going to give you?.”

Hearn said the theory was up there with the suit and how it cost Wilder the fight.

"It's up there with the suit, the heavy suit. I think you should ask Tyson Fury,” he added.

The referee checked Fury’s gloves and approved of them before the fight went ahead.

Fury produced a masterclass to outbox Wilder, but a third fight is expected in July this year.

Deontay Wilder’s pre-fight costume issue

Wilder said the reason he went with the outfit he did was to create a memorable night of entertainment for his fans, but it backfired on him.

“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is ... that my uniform was way too heavy for me,” Wilder told Yahoo Sports by telephone.

“I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight.

“In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.

“But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior.”
