Netflix sets announcers for Christmas NFL games, per report

Netflix has its announcers for the streaming giant's first foray into broadcasting NFL games this Christmas Day.

According to The Athletic, Ian Eagle will call one game, while his son, Noah Eagle, will call the other. Ian Eagle will be alongside J.J. Watt and Nate Burleson for the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, while Noah Eagle – Ian's son – will be joined by FOX's Greg Olsen for the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens in the nightcap.

Ian Eagle calls games with CBS' No. 2 NFL team. Burleson and Watt, who will be on the call while his brother T.J. plays for the Steelers, are studio analysts for the network's "NFL Today" show. Noah Eagle works for NBC calling college football and basketball, along with the occasional NFL assignment, including last season's wild-card game between the Texans and Cleveland Browns. Olsen was FOX's top game analyst until Tom Brady's arrival to the broadcast booth this season.

Still to be revealed are the sideline reporters for each game.

Netflix paid approximately $150 million for the two games that will be played on a Wednesday. With no internal talent, the company had to rely on existing announcers to fill those roles. CBS Sports is producing the games.
