NBA player James Harden caught up in rapper's arrest in Paris

NBA star James Harden was patted down by police in Paris while close friend and rapper Lil Baby was arrested over alleged possession of cannabis.

The Brooklyn Nets guard could be seen in video posted on social media saying "I don't understand," while being frisked on a footpath.

According to local newspaper Le Parisien, police pulled over a vehicle Thursday afternoon when they smelled cannabis.

Lil Baby and two others were in the car, according to police, while Harden was not in the car.

Police say they found 20 grams of marijuana in the car and arrested Lil Baby and the other two people in the car, who have not been publicly identified, according to the report.

Harden is believed to have been walking with friends nearby when the rapper's car was pulled over, and was free to go after the three arrests, according to the local report.

Harden has been seen with Lil Baby and Kanye West around Paris during the city's Fashion Week in recent days.

The NBA All-Star was hobbled by a hamstring injury in the Playoffs, playing injured as the Nets were defeated in seven games by the Milwaukee Buck in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

After initially making himself available to play with Team USA at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, Harden instead withdrew from the team to concentrate on his recovery.

A day before the rapper's arrest, a video surfaced on social media of Harden and Lil Baby appearing surprised when confronted by a swathe of cameras as they left a building.

Dellavedova poised for NBL homecoming

NBA title-winner Matthew Dellavedova is poised to sign with Melbourne United in the biggest NBL homecoming since Andrew Bogut's move to Sydney three years ago.

He would join Boomers teammate Chris Goulding while fellow Boomer and United star Jock Landale - named this season's finals MVP - is hopeful of securing a move to the NBA on the back of a strong Olympic campaign.

It would be another endorsement of the Australian league, which welcomed Bogut in 2018 and was used by this year's NBA rookie of year LaMelo Ball as a launching pad.
