Danica Patrick has called out a social media troll over an awful comment about her break-up with NFL star Aaron Rodgers.

The former NASCAR driver split with Rodgers last month after two years together.

The aftermath has been particularly awful for Patrick, with hurtful comments flooding her social media posts.

But Patrick has officially had enough, responding to a troll’s nasty comment on Monday.

“At 38, it’s over for you in the relationship world with high value men,” the troll commented on a photo of Patrick and some friends.

“From a failed marriage to failed dating clearly you have a problem in dating.”

The 38-year-old shared a screenshot of the comment and hit back in brilliant fashion.

“If we let what one person thinks of us be our reality, we are doomed,” she wrote.

“Realise that what someone says to us has a lot more to do with their own wounds and reality than ours.

“Our reality is our decision. Still not easy - but true.”

Danica Patrick and Aaron Rodgers split

Patrick was married for eight years before divorcing her husband in 2013.

She dated fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr for five years before starting her relationship with Rodgers in 2018.

Speculation about Patrick and Rodgers’ relationship arose in July when Patrick wasn’t in attendance at the American Century Championship where Rodgers competed in a celebrity golf event.

They have since stopped following each other in Instagram.

The news came as a shock after the sporting power couple moved in to a $28 million mansion together in December, according to Variety.

While Patrick hasn’t addressed the split publicly she has shared a number of quotes about relationships on her social media channels.

“Look at the chosen relationship in your life and notice any themes,” one said.

“What role do you play? Who are you with them? Who do you believe you need to be? What stories do you tell yourself about what they can offer you? What can they or can’t they handle?”

Patrick retired from racing in 2018, appearing as a racing analyst on NBC, and started a weekly podcast called “Pretty Intense” in 2019.

In November she spoke about the idea of getting engaged.

“You know what, that’s one of those things, you can’t be attached to something going a certain way because if you really want something to happen, there’s that equal energy of being afraid that it’s not going to happen,” she said during an interview on Jenny McCarthy’s SiriusXM radio show.

“So you just have to let it go and be like, ‘Well, am I having fun today? Yup.’ Then life’s good’.”
