AFLW star Moana Hope has taken to social media to show off the pics from her wedding.

Hope married model partner Isabella Carlstrom in Toorak, Melbourne on Saturday at the home of a friend.

“It’s everything we ever wanted in a wedding. No disrespect to tradition, but it’s not very traditional,” Hope told the Herald Sun.

“We just want it to be very personal and really nice. It’s like a big beautiful party.”

The pair both shared the stunning photos on Instagram.

“Mrs and Mrs Carlstrom-Hope,” Hope wrote as the caption of one pic.

Carlstrom wrote: “The best day of my life. Becoming Mrs Carlstrom-Hope. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible. I love you dearly from the bottom of my heart.”

Hope was walked down the aisle by mum Rosemary, while sister Lavinia - who Hope cares for full-time - was flower girl and ring bearer.

Hope and Carlstrom were engaged last October, with Carlstrom popping the question at the grave of Hope’s late father.

“I told her that if she ever wanted to marry me she had to ask my dad… So she asked me to marry her at my Dad’s tombstone, so he was there when she asked me,” Hope shared on Instagram.

“It could never, ever get anymore perfect then this…. I said yes.”

Hope’s AFLW career

Hope played in the inaugural AFLW season for Collingwood in 2017, before moving to North Melbourne in 2019.

She’s played 20 games across three seasons, kicking 23 goals.

She was caught up in a controversy involving Mick Malthouse late last year, storming out of a function she was a key speaker at after Malthouse allegedly made unsavoury comments about the women’s game.

“He said that AFL was a man’s game and not a woman’s game,” Hope told the Herald Sun at the time.

“And he said that on stage in front of 50 kids who had just played a boys and girls game of football.

“He can have an opinion but then there’s just degrading and disrespectful comments.”
