Juventus forward Paulo Dybala reportedly tests positive for coronavirus for the fourth time
More than a month after he and his girlfriend tested positive for COVID-19, Juventus forward Paulo Dybala is still battling the virus.
Dybala has tested positive for the coronavirus for the fourth time in the past six weeks, according to CNN.
“He is doing well now, he has no symptoms and is even training,” a source close to Dybala told CNN. “Now he is waiting for the results of the latest two swabs.
“Dybala has to respect the healthcare system and the time it takes. He is a soccer player and doesn’t get preferential treatment.”
It’s unknown when each of Dybala’s tests took place over that six-week period. He first revealed that he and his girlfriend, Oriana Sabatini, had tested positive for the coronavirus on Instagram on March 21.
“Hi everyone, I just wanted to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive,” Dybala wrote, in part. “Luckily we are in perfect conditions. Thanks for your messages.”
The 26-year-old was in the midst of his fifth season with Juventus when Serie A suspended play due to the coronavirus, and had scored 13 goals across all competitions.

Dybala is one of at least three Juventus players to test positive for the virus, joining defender Daniele Rugani and midfielder Blaise Matuidi — both of whom have since recovered fully.
Most of the team has hunkered down in Turin during the outbreak, however some players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, have traveled back home. Ronaldo flew to Portugal before a lockdown in Italy was implemented, and drew harsh criticism from former Juventus president Giovanni Gigli after pictures of him at a pool surfaced.
Italy, and northern Italy especially, has been one of the hardest-hit areas in the world. There were more than 201,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of Wednesday afternoon, according to The New York Times, and more than 27,000 deaths attributed to the virus.
