GSP reportedly seeking mega fight with McGregor
A crazy report regarding the fighting future of UFC legend Georges St Pierre could spell disaster for Aussie Robert Whittaker.
Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, former heavyweight and current MMA expert Brendan Schaub stated GSP is no chance of accepting a fight with the 'dangerous' Whittaker.
Instead, the Canadian superstar will reportedly seek a mind-blowing fight with Conor McGregor at welterweight (170 pounds, 77 kilograms) to follow his ultra-impressive return victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 217.
"GSP is not fighting Whittaker," Schaub told Joe Rogan.
"The rumour mill, from what I hear is he might want to see if he can cut to 170 (pounds) and do a super fight with Conor (McGregor) there.

"In a dream situation that's what all sides would want to have happen and GSP, he's taking time off now but I know he's going to see if he can cut to 70 (170 pounds) to possibly make that happen.
"He is thicker than the three musketeers right now, and he's a muscular dude, he's getting older too so the weight comes on.
"(But) I bet he could do it at 70 (170 pounds) if he realises the possibilities of a super-fight with Conor."
Missing out on a dream fight with St Pierre would be a dagger to the heart of Whittaker, who's been patiently waiting on the sidelines for a shot at the middleweight title since injuring his knee in his UFC 213 clash with Yoel Romero in July.
The hard-hitting Aussie has stated that a bout with GSP would be the realisation of a childhood dream.
"Every welterweight in the world aspired to become something like him. If I got the privilege of fighting him? Man, dream come true," Whittaker said.
Meanwhile, Schaub justified GSP's apparent interest in the McGregor mega-fight saying the Canadian's pay-per-view numbers in his middleweight title clash with Michael Bisping were "not what they (GSP's team) were hoping".
Considering part of the 36-year-old's current motivation is making good money at the back end of his storied career, pay-per-view numbers matter more than ever.
"Even if he fought Whittaker I don't think he breaks a million (viewers), I think he does around 850 to 900 (thousand viewers) again," Shaub said.
"I think he has to have a dance partner like Conor to break a million (pay per views)."
Schaub declared a GSP, McGregor bout would be "the biggest UFC of all time" demanding the attention of sports fans around the world.
"Anything he (McGregor) does after the Floyd Mayweather fight. There's so much hype, everyone wants to see his next move," Schaub said.
UFC commentator Rogan agreed with the sentiment, almost speechless at the thought of the mega clash.
"Conor v GSP is like WOAH. I want to sit down and think about that for a while."

Adding to GSP's reported refusal to fight Whittaker is the 26-year-old Kiwi-born Australian's incredible power and range of skills.
"The problem is he (Whittaker) is in his prime, he's young and he hits like a Mack truck. Oh! And he's good at everything!" Shaub told Rogan.
"He's good at everything and he fires bombs at your face! He's trying to knock you out!" Rogan said in agreeance.
