Formula One fans have slammed the 'disgusting' treatment of Daniel Ricciardo during a pre-race show at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Aussie driver had another miserable day for McLaren, finishing 17th and 10 places behind his British teammate Lando Norris.

The lowly finish added more misery in a brutal season for Ricciardo, who was sensationally dumped by McLaren two weeks ago and won't race for the team next year.

However it was the actions of a pre-race broadcaster that angered fans on Sunday, after a graphic in an F1 TV segment brutally burned the Aussie driver.

The graphic read 'struggling again' under Ricciardo's name after he qualified for Sunday's race in 18th position.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "This is so disgusting.. It's not even a typo.

"Clearly degrading and disregarding his efforts. Whoever did this must be a McLaren fan for sure."

Another commented: "Interesting to see F1 always claiming to be against toxic behaviour and harassment, just to be a prime example of toxicity when Ricciardo is 'struggling again'."

F1 fans were also stunned by Ricciardo's lack of pace at Zandvoort.

“That is really painful," Jenson Button said on Sky Sports on Saturday.

“The big disappointment is Ricciardo, I thought he was in for a big one this weekend.”

Max Verstappen wins Dutch Grand Prix again

Championship leader Max Verstappen made quick work of a safety car restart to win the Dutch Grand Prix in front of 100,000 adoring fans at his home track.

The Dutch hero made it four-straight wins for the first time in his Formula One career with his victory on Sunday.

Verstappen's 10th win matched his tally from last year and the Red Bull driver extended his championship lead to 109 points.

With seven races left, a second straight title is looking increasingly likely as his challengers - Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and teammate Sergio Perez in joint second - continue to fall further back.

George Russell finished second for Mercedes ahead of Leclerc, with Lewis Hamilton dropping from first to fourth in a costly late blunder.

Verstappen looked to be coasting to victory when a safety car came out on Lap 56, after the engine cut out on the Alfa Romeo of Valtteri Bottas.

Verstappen changed tyres and was behind leader Hamilton's Mercedes with 12 laps left.

But Hamilton was on a slower medium tyre and Verstappen on the quicker softs left the British driver a sitting duck, much like when he lost the title to Verstappen at last year's season-ending Abu Dhabi GP.

Hamilton misjudged his restart and Verstappen overtook him straight away to bring a huge roar from the Orange Army.

An angry Hamilton took it out on his team, using an expletive on radio to tell them he wasn't happy about not swapping for new tyres under the safety car, when Russell had.

Hamilton appeared to brake late when Russell overtook him and they nearly collided.

Hamilton could no longer contain his rage and unleashed another expletive-laced rant.

"That was the biggest f*** up," Hamilton told his team on radio.

"I can't believe how much you guys f***ed me."

It got worse as Leclerc overtook Hamilton to move into third on an otherwise poor day for a Ferrari team unable to cut out the most basic errors.

Leclerc started from second ahead of Carlos Sainz in third. Sainz crossed the line in eighth and got a five-second penalty for an unsafe release in the pit lane.
