David Warner and Jonny Bairstow have added another extraordinary chapter to their blossoming opening batting partnership.

The Aussie star and England's Bairstow put on an incredible 160-run opening stand to propel Sunrisers Hyderabad to a big win over Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.

Bairstow blasted a massive 97-runs, while Warner hit a quick-fire 52 in a blistering stand that helped Hyderabad seal a 69-run win.

Hyderabad faded at the end but still managed a solid 6-201, passing the double century mark for the first time this season.

Kings XI's reply never really got started, with only Nicholas Pooran putting up a fight with a 37-ball 77, having notched up the fastest half-century in the IPL this season off just 17 deliveries.

They were all out for 132 in the 17th over, losing for a fourth straight time.

Bairstow, who was dropped on 19, plundered two sixes off Ravi Bishnoi's first over, two sixes in an over off Glenn Maxwell, and two more sixes off Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the 14th, bringing up his and Warner's second 150-run stand in the IPL, both against Kings XI.

Bairstow's third fifty in six matches deserved to become a century after six sixes and seven boundaries but he was struck on the back leg and out lbw after facing 55 deliveries.

Just three balls before that, Warner mishit a slog sweep straight to his Australian team mate Maxwell on the boundary. His 52 came from 40 balls.

Incredibly, Warner has been involved in the last six century partnerships for the Sunrisers - with all but one of them coming alongside Bairstow.

The pair's latest remarkable exploits had cricket fans singing their praises on social media.

Pooran heroics not enough for Kings XI

Punjab leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who conceded 28 off his first over, finished with three wickets and medium-pacer Arshdeep Singh chipped in with two.

Kings XI's Mayank Agarwal was run out by his opening partner Lokesh Rahul in the second over, and the team's challenge went downhill.

Pooran went in at 31-2, hit a boundary off his first delivery, and a six off his fifth. He smashed 18-year-old leg spinner Abdul Samad for 6-4-6-6-6-0 to reach the fastest fifty in this IPL, off just 17 balls.

But he saw teammates Maxwell run out on 5, Mandeep Singh bowled on 6, and Mujeeb edge behind on 1.

Pooran's luck run out against leg spinner Rashid Khan, giving up a thick edge. He was the seventh man out after an entertaining 77 off 37 balls, including seven sixes and five boundaries.

Mohammed Shami was out lbw on the next ball for a duck, and Khan finished with outstanding figures of 4-1-12-3.
