'I will get this done': UFC boss vows to deliver 'cursed' UFC mega fight

UFC boss Dana White couldn’t help but have a laugh at the cursed fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson as their third scheduled bout is put under threat from the coronavirus.

White has assured fans that UFC 249, headlined on April 18 by a lightweight title fight between Nurmagomedov and challenger Ferguson, will go on as scheduled.

But many people around the world are sceptical considering the current coronavirus epidemic that has shut down nearly all sports.

Khabib and Ferguson have been scheduled to fight four times before the bouts fell through for various reasons, which has lead to fans claiming the bout is cursed.

But White is adamant this fight will happen as scheduled and had laugh at the expense of the ‘curse’ with an edited photo.

“I was worried about this too.... but I will get this done,” he wrote on Instagram.

The caption was accompanied with an edited photo of Khabib and Ferguson aged.

White recently vowed the UFC would carry on in the face of the pandemic.

The controversial figure said he wanted UFC to be the first major sport to return to action.

Dana White can’t keep his mouth shut about the criticism regarding his slow reaction to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The UFC was one of the slowest sports organisations to act as the pandemic became reality across the globe and White does not like people talking about that.

He said in an Instagram Live session with fighter Kamaru Usman on Thursday night that some of the people who cover UFC are ‘the weakest, wimpiest people on Earth.’

The UFC held its event in Brazil on March 14 in front of an empty arena as every other major North American sports league had halted its events by then.
