'Giant crusher': Alex de Minaur's brutal takedown of 7-foot rival
Alex de Minaur has glided into the third round of the Cincinnati Masters with a straight-sets win over home hope Reilly Opelka.
The world No.38 Australian beat the American wildcard 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 in one hour and 34 minutes to make the third round of an ATP Masters tournament for the second time.
Remarkably, it’s De Minaur’s third victory from three matches against Opelka this year.
The giant American stands at 6 foot 11, some 11 inches taller than de Minaur.
Tennis TV labelled de Minaur the ‘giant crusher’.

Nishioka stuns Nishikori
De Minaur will face Yoshihito Nishioka in the round of 16 after the Japanese stunned compatriot and close friend Kei Nishikori 7-6 (7-2) 6-4.
Nishikori was not the only favourite to bow out on Wednesday with Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev joining him in the exit lounge.
Greek third seed Tsitsipas was stunned by Jan Lennard-Struff 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (8-6), despite saving three match points.
Struff will play Daniil Medvedev next after the Russian seventh seed conquered France's Benoit Paire 7-6 (7-2) 6-1.
Zverev served 20 double faults in a three-set loss to 19-year-old qualifier Miomir Kecmanovic.
The German fifth seed has had a poor season and this was another low point, Kecmanovic benefiting from Zverev's wayward serving in a 6-7 (4-7) 6-2 6-4 victory, his first over a top-10 player.
The bottom half of the draw is wide open for de Minaur, with eighth-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut the highest seed remaining in that section.
Stan Wawrinka was ousted 6-4 6-4 by qualifier Andrey Rublev while Belgian 13th seed David Goffin beat Argentina Guido Pella 6-1 7-5.
Frenchman Richard Gasquet edged Argentine Federico Delbonis 7-5 7-6 (7-1) to set up a match with Diego Schwartzman, who defeated Radu Albot 6-4 6-2.
Frenchmen Lucas Pouille and Adrian Mannarino also advanced to the third round.
