Cameron Munster's tetchy response to Gorden Tallis question about Storm forwards

Five-eighth Cameron Munster has taken a sly dig at NRL great Gorden Tallis after he pointed out the Melbourne Storm pack were dominated against the Broncos only a few weeks ago. The Storm have come under fire since the first week of the NRL finals having been dominated at Suncorp Stadium in a 24-0 loss to the Broncos.

Munster and his teammates were outplayed with the loss meaning the Storm had to win a thriller against the Roosters last week. Plenty has been made of the Storm needing to use the 'dark arts' to get under the Panthers' skin on Friday in an attempt to disrupt the reigning champs.

The five-eighth has labelled the Panthers the benchmark of the competition and is well aware of the challenge they face at Accor Stadium. However, Munster wasn't buying into Tallis' line of questioning.

Speaking on NRL 360 on Thursday night, Tallis asked Munster how the Storm forward pack was going to stand up to Penrith forwards having been 'dominated' by the Broncos. Penrith have one of the best packs in the game led by James Fisher-Harris, Isaah Yeo and Liam Martin. And Munster took a cheeky dig at the Maroons greats.

"Thanks Gordie, you should be a coach mate. I like the way you think," Munster said. The panel erupted with laughter as Munster couldn't contain his smile.

"What else do you want me to say about them, that they are soft?" Tallis hit back. Munster shared in the laugh, before addressing the concern.

"We obviously had a bad night, everyone was accountable for their performance. It was just one of those games we got outmuscled all over the park. Myself, it was one of the worst games I probably played. We know we have a big game ahead of us."

Munster wasn't done. At the end of the interview he couldn't help take another cheeky dig at Tallis. "After Gordie having a go at my forward pack, I might have to go see them tonight," Munster said.

Tallis told host Braith Anasta: "I might have hit a nerve." Anasta said Gordie could have lit the fuse the Storm needed if they were watching the interview.

Craig Bellamy addresses Panthers jersey controversy

Craig Bellamy also addressed the images of Storm players wearing Panthers jerseys in training during a session. The mind games have begun as photos emerged on Tuesday showing half of the Storm squad wearing their opposition's jerseys during an opposed training session.

While the starting side wore their usual Storm training gear, the rest of the squad who were acting as the opposition were wearing Panthers jerseys. The move raised eyebrows around the sport with Penrith prop Moses Leota describing it as "weird".

But Bellamy wasn't having any of it and even took a dig at the reporters in the process. "If you guys come here a little bit more often you'll probably see that during the year," the veteran coach said.

"It's nothing new. When we face good opposition we just remind the players who we're playing. Having our reserve grade guys just wearing the T-shirts of the opposition, we've been doing that for 10 years.

"It's probably the fourth or fifth time we've done it this year. The idea is just to remind us who we're playing against ... what their strengths are and who their players are."
