'It breaks your heart': Collingwood players share touching moment with young fan

An emotional Adam Treloar has dedicated his team’s victory to a young fan with brain cancer who attended the game on Friday night.

Kyron McGuire ran out alongside his favourite player, Treloar, and the rest of the Collingwood team before the match on Friday as he watched the Pies roar to victory over Port Adelaide.

After the match, the team shared a beautiful moment with young Kyron as Treloar and club captain Scott Pendlebury chaired the youngster off the field in front of the fans.

“When I met him two days ago and I heard the story about the little fella, it breaks your heart and it makes you appreciate everything that we have,” Treloar said on Channel Seven.

“I get to play football and I get to live my life and (there’s) this poor little fella here. Obviously for his family too.

“The family are massive Collingwood people and I know little Kyron here loves the footy club so to show him around the club on Thursday was very special for us and touched a lot of us and it makes you appreciate everything that we have.”

McGuire was diagnosed with brain cancer 18 months ago, but his parents were told the heartbreaking news his condition was terminal only two weeks ago.
