Sporting great's daughter dragged into ugly boxing beef

American baseball legend Jose Canseco has sparked a heated online war of words with Youtuber Logan Paul that quickly turned personal.

Canseco watched Logan's brother Jake Paul beat NBA veteran Nate Robinson in a lopsided boxing bout on the weekend, that's been widely criticised in the sporting world.

The younger Logan brother needed less than two rounds to knock out Robinson, with 56-year-old Canseco taking to Twitter to share his frustrations, a short time later.

“I will fight anyone of the Logan Brothers they have enough for anyone with any type of talent yet or fighting skills,” Canseco tweeted Sunday night.

The public challenge from the two-time World Series winner eventually found its way to Logan Paul, who was once romantically linked to Canseco's daughter Josie.

“No problem. I love smashing cansecos,” the 25-year-old tweeted.

While her father's name is synonymous with baseball, Josie Canseco is making a name for herself through a career in modelling, TV and social media.

The 24-year-old was Playboy’s 'Playmate of the Month' in June 2016, and has appeared on reality TV show Hollywood Exes, as well as a web series called Summer Break.

Over that time she's amassed a large presence on social media, with some 1.2 million followers on Instagram.

Canseco throws down challenge to Paul

That pales in comparison to Logan Paul's 18.5 million Instagram followers, with the older of the brothers making his name as a YouTube star.

Like his younger brother, Logan has also tried his hand at boxing, having fought fellow Youtuber KSI twice.

His search for another fight could be over after Canseco hit back at his taunt on social media.

“Okay since you like smashing Canseco Logan get ahold of my agent Mike Maguire let’s get this done,” Canseco tweeted.

“Logan Paul our fight will be definitely way more entertaining than the Tyson fight cuz at least we know one of us is going to get knocked out,” he added.

The six-time All-star says he's even lined up one of the biggest names in boxing to be his trainer, if Paul agrees to the fight.

“By the way Logan Paul I’m a huge fan of Floyd Mayweather maybe if you take this fight I’ll have him train me then you’ll really be in trouble,” Canseco posted.
