After months of back and forth slanging matches and trash talk, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have finally agreed to meet in the boxing ring.

The heavyweight brawlers have agreed to a two fight deal in which Joshua's WBA, IBF and WBO titles and Fury's WBC belt will be on the line.

No venue has been locked in yet, however Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn said the two fights were all but a done deal - despite Fury insisting as recently as last week that he'd stopped training and was downing 10-12 pints of beer a day.

"The hard part is always getting everybody to put pen to paper," Hearn said, confirming the deal to ESPN.

"But this was a major effort from all parties to get this over the line. You had rival promoters, rival networks and rival fighters.

"We've already had approaches from eight or nine sites. The offers have come from multiple countries in the Middle East, from Asia, Eastern Europe and America."

The fighters will reportedly share a 50-50 split of money for the first fight, with the winner to take a 60 per cent cut in a rematch.

Fury hasn't fought since defeating Deontay Wilder in February last year, while Joshua's last bout was a victory over Kubrat Pulev in December.

Hearn said a venue for the fight would be finalised 'within the next month'.

Tyson Fury adamant he won't train without a deal

Hearn's announcement of the two-fight agreement flew in the face of an interview Fury did with iFL TV last week, in which he said a deal remained some ways away.

Fury, for the better half of lockdown, has been posting training videos to his social media in preparation for the anticipated showdown with the WBA, IBF, WBO champ Joshua.

Promoter Bob Arum and Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn hinted a deal was edging closer with a potential showdown in Saudi Arabia in June looking possible.

But 'The Gypsy King' appeared to put a dampener on the fight in an interview with IFL TV.

The undefeated heavyweight cut a frustrated figure when talking about the fight, which could have been a part of a ploy to get Joshua to sign.

"I've got no news," Fury said.

“Will I be fighting Joshua in the next 10 minutes? No. Do I think the fight will eventually happen? Yes, it has to happen. Do I think it is next or imminent? No.

“I am not going to hold my breath for it, that’s for sure.

“I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket because I have been guilty of doing that before and, when the fight doesn’t happen, that is when I end up in a massive depression and feel like killing myself.

“I am not going to say ‘it is definitely happening in June or July’.”

Fury even said he had stopped training and is taking a break.

"I've stopped training," he added.

"I'm doing anywhere between 10-12 pints of lager a day, at the minute. Not eating, getting all my calories from alcohol.

"I've done training, training and training with no further process. It's one of those things where I am chilling out and being a man of leisure during lockdown."

Fury also said he wanted to fight twice in 2021 and he didn't care who was his next opponent.
