Robbie Farah calls out Eugenie Bouchard in bizarre pick-up attempt

Robbie Farah has caused a stir on social media after calling out Eugenie Bouchard for a drink.

The former Wests Tigers star is currently in Miami for Monday’s Super Bowl between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Farah must have heard that Bouchard lives in Miami so decided to seek her out.

“Genie Bouchard surely you’re having a drink with me in Miami!” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday alongside an emoji of a winking face blowing a kiss.

“If I rub you do I get 3 wishes?” he said in a separate tweet.

After a number of followers questioned Farah, the former NSW Blues and Kangaroos hooker said he was simply doing it for “sh**s and giggles.”

“Sorry for having a laugh,” he wrote.

Unfortunately for Farah it doesn’t look like Bouchard has replied.

Perhaps it was the way he worded his tweets?

The Super Bowl may have reminded Farah of how Bouchard agreed to go on a date with a random fan when a bet on the 2017 Super Bowl backfired.

Bouchard agreed to a date with John Goehrke if the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons.

It was a nail-biter, but the Patriots pulled it out and Goehrke and Bouchard went on a date to a Brooklyn Nets game a few weeks later.

They then hung out a number of times and rekindled things by attending the 2018 Super Bowl together.

Unfortunately things appeared to fizzle from there.

Bouchard’s struggles on the tennis court

The 2014 Wimbledon runner-up, once as high as No. 5 in the rankings, has had a long slide down to No. 211.

In the shadows of the main show courts at Melbourne Park, days before the first grand slam tournament of the season was set to begin in earnest, Bouchard's stay at the Australian Open was over in the last round of qualifying.

The 25-year-old Canadian survived nearly three hours against China's You Xiaodi in heavy smoke and haze in the first round of qualifying and advanced through a second-rounder against Maddison Inglis in 65 minutes.

With a spot in the main draw on the line, though, Bouchard lost 6-4, 6-3 to Martina Trevisan, a 26-year-old Italian who now will make her debut at a Grand Slam tournament.

“Super tough,” Bouchard said of the loss. “It's last round of qualies. I felt like I was close.”

In 2014, Bouchard reached a career-high No. 5 ranking after making the semi-finals at the Australian Open and French Open and losing the Wimbledon final to Petra Kvitova.

She made it to the quarter-finals in Australia in 2015 and was into the fourth round at the US Open that September, but had to withdraw because of a concussion she sustained after slipping and falling on wet locker room floor.

She reached a settlement with the United States Tennis Association in 2018 but her ranking has continued to fall.
