Kieron Pollard has sparked controversy in the third ODI between West Indies and Australia after threatening to 'Mankad' Matthew Wade.

Wade and Pollard went head-to-head in a number of fiery exchanges in Barbados on Tuesday as Australia won the series 2-1 with a six-wicket victory.

And the clash culminated in Pollard giving Wade a warning about the possibility of a 'Mankad'.

Pollard resorted to bowling off-spin as Australia were cruising to victory.

And the West Indies captain thought he'd caught Wade creeping out of his crease early at the non-striker's end.

Pollard aborted his delivery and threatened to 'Mankad' Wade as the Australian stepped out of his crease while Pollard was bowling.

However replays showed Wade was still in his ground when Pollard would have delivered the ball, only stepping out after Pollard pulled out.

Umpire Joel Wilson was forced to step in as the two players shared words at one stage late in the game.

While Pollard received some praise for warning Wade rather than running him out, the majority slammed the Windies captain for seemingly tricking his counterpart.

Aussies win one-day series

Australia easily chased down the West Indies' total of 153 in the 31st over to claim the series.

Wade starred with the bat, scoring 51 not out off 52 balls as Australia won by six wickets.

The Windies were dismissed for 152 off 45.1 overs after Pollard won the toss and elected to bat.

All five Australian bowlers took a wicket with Mitchell Starc (3-43 off 9.1 overs) leading the way and finishing the series with 11 wickets at an average of 10.63

New-ball partner Josh Hazlewood, back after missing game two with a calf issue, took 2-18 off eight miserly overs.

Spinners Adam Zampa (2-29), Ashton Agar (2-31) and Ashton Turner (1-23 off 8 overs) all profited on a pitch offering turn.

"Its a real treat bowling on that wicket, I'd like to take that everywhere with me," said Agar, who returned career-best ODI figures.

A seventh-wicket stand of 44 between opener Evin Lewis (55 not out) and paceman Alzarri Joseph (15) was the hosts' only significant partnership.

Opener Lewis had to retire in the fourth over due to concussion protocols when he top-edged a short Hazlewood delivery into his helmet.

Australia made three changes to the side that lost the second ODI.

Hazlewood, Agar, and 38-year-old allrounder Daniel Christian were recalled, with the latter making his first ODI appearance since January 2014.
