Test debutant Cameron Green has been given an amusing welcome to the Australian team by former fast bowler Damian Fleming on social media.

Fleming, who played 20 Tests and 88 ODI’s for Australia, posted a note which he had originally addressed to Moises Henriques, but has since passed on to every fast bowler making their Test debut.

The note, titled ‘Australians with Hat Tricks on Test Debut Club’, reads as a pleasant introduction to the Australian team and the history behind it, until Fleming rather gets to the point.

“You have a rare opportunity to join the AWHOTDC club over the next five days,” Fleming’s letter reads.

“All we require is three wickets in three consecutive balls – and it doesn’t matter if you spread them out over a couple of overs, as I did.

“They just have to be in the next five days.”

Fleming seems to have kept a copy of his original note to Henriques, which has since been scribbled over and each new bowler’s name hastily added for that personal touch.

Known for enjoying the lighter side of the game on his Twitter page, Fleming’s fans were thrilled to see his cheekily formal request pop up once again.

“This is gold,” one fan posted in reply, while Fleming had many others cracking up in reply.

Cameron Green primed for Test debut

Australian allrounder Cameron Green's bowling restrictions will be removed when he makes his Test debut against India, captain Tim Paine says.

Green has been curbed to four-over spells while recovering from a back injury but Paine will lift those limits in the first Test starting Thursday in Adelaide.

"He will bowl a few more overs than that," Paine told reporters on Wednesday.

"Once you're selected in a Test match, you're good to go.

"Having said that, we don't expect him to bowl a huge amount of overs anyway with the attack we have got. We see him as just a nice change up.

"He takes 12-14 overs an innings out of our key fast bowlers, which is great in terms of being able to keep them fresh in a pink ball Test for the night session and ... being able to keep them fresh for the whole series."

Paine believed Green's bowling could prolong the Test careers of frontline pacemen Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

"He (Green) is going to be a huge asset for us in that sense," he said.

The 21-year-old Green has played only 21 first-class games but Paine described the West Australian as ready for Test cricket.

"He's really impressive for a guy his age," Paine said.

"(He) understands his game really well, really smart cricket brain for such a young guy and really calm and cool under pressure.

"From what I've seen of him playing against him and the last couple of weeks being around him, he is made for Test cricket.

"We can't wait to see him get out there tomorrow and unleash him."
