'There's f***ing sand': Bizarre court controversy sparks Aussie outburst

Aussie tennis gun John Millman often lets his tennis do the talking, but he found himself fuming after the state of the court caused him to take a tumble.

Millman found himself at odds at the Brisbane court when he screamed at the officials to check the sand near the baseline after he slipped over.

Millman, who was filling in for Alex de Minaur, found himself a break down in the first set against Michail Pervolarakis of Greece at the ATP Cup.

But something was clearly bothering Millman during the rallies and could be heard telling Australian captain Lleyton Hewitt there was sand on the Brisbane court.

But Millman lost his cool during the change of plays when he slipped chasing the ball and he made sure he let the officials know.

“There’s sand there, there’s f***ing sand there,” he could be heard saying, as the cameras showed some sand near the baseline.

Millman struggled to recover and lost the first set 6-4 to the World No.486.

Zverev’s struggles continue

Alexander Zverev's Australian Open preparations are in disarray.

Smashed racquets, on-court meltdowns and three defeats from three matches, the ATP Cup in Brisbane has been a tournament to forget for Zverev.

The German world No.7's preparations for the year's first grand slam are in tatters as he slumped to a 6-2 6-2 loss to Canada's Denis Shapovalov on Pat Rafter Arena on Tuesday.

While the defeat didn't contain the explosions of frustrations from his earlier matches, the performance was just as insipid for such a highly-touted player.
