'What a star': Fans stunned as Ash Barty wins golf championship
Ash Barty may not be competing in Paris to defend her French Open title this month, but the Aussie tennis star has remarkably still added another trophy to her growing collection.
The World No.1 shocked the tennis world earlier this month after announcing she wouldn't be competing at Roland Garros for health reasons.

'DISGUSTING': Tennis fans erupt over fresh Djokovic drama
“It has been a difficult decision to make but unfortunately I will not be competing in Europe this year,” she wrote on social media at the time.
“Last year’s French Open was the most special tournament of my career so this is not a decision I have made lightly.
“I wish the players and the French Federation all the best for a successful tournament," Barty added, citing health risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barty's decision followed a similar move to skip the US Open, adding that she was unable to properly prepare for either grand slam, due to the coronavirus crisis.
However, the World No.1 has been far from idle during her self-imposed break from tennis, with a switch in sports yielding incredible results.
Not content with being queen of the tennis court and a former cricket pro, Barty is now also officially the Brookwater Golf Club women's champion.
With a swing that's even had Tiger Woods gushing, the sporting super talent claimed the trophy with a commanding seven and five triumph in the match play final.
The 24-year-old's incredible feat left fans in disbelief at her enviable CV of sporting accomplishments.

Best thing about Ash is she'll treasure this trophy just as much as the French Open. 🙂

Barty hones golf game during tennis break
The break from tennis has seen Barty slash her golfing handicap from 10 to four while enjoying rounds with two-time men's champion Pat Rafter and her boyfriend Garry Kissick.
Kissick is a PGA trainee professional at Brookwater and first met Barty when she popped into the pro shop before a round four years ago.
Golf is in Barty's blood, with her father Robert once representing Australia as an amateur.
Barty's form even captured Woods' attention before last year's Presidents Cup in Melbourne.
“She's got a great swing, are you kidding me?” the 15-times major winner said after watching Barty show off her skills on the banks of the Yarra River by striking a wedge to a makeshift green on the water.
Not only is Ash Barty a gun with a racquet and cricket bat... She just beat Tiger Woods in golf. 🤯 #9WWOS pic.twitter.com/e6LWT3fdip
