The Tigers spearhead found himself in hot water with the match review officer for a hit on Suns defender Sam Collins during the final quarter at the Gabba on Monday night.

He was also spotted striking ruckman Jarrod Witts during the third term.

On Tuesday, the Tigers spearhead was offered separate $1000 fines for the two offences.

Lynch's swinging right arm to Collins' chest drew fierce criticism after it was shown during the television broadcast, with former St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt labelling it a "cheap shot".

His latest sanction comes a fortnight after he was fined $500 for misconduct after shoving Brisbane defender Alex Witherden's head into the ground.

Speaking on Fox Footy's AFL 360 on Tuesday night, host Mark Robinson said Lynch needs to cut out the nonsense from his game if he cares about his standing in the sport.

“If Tom Lynch was a mate of mine I would sit here right now and say ‘Mate, you’re being a douche, what are you doing? ... If you don’t care what people think, no problem. But as a great mate of yours I’m telling you that everyone’s thinking you’re a douchebag for what you’re doing at the moment’,” Robinson said.

The AFL 360 host also called out Lynch for another incident where he feigned to hit Collins in the face.

Lynch’s actions harming his reputation

“To go up and (feign) to hit Collins, that made him look like a fool. Why are you acting like this? Play hard, tough football, earn respect. At the moment he’s losing respect," Robinson added.

“If he can live with that, that’s up to him. He’s a good person Tom but he’s just acting really badly on the field.”

Gerard Whateley agreed with his co-cost that Lynch's actions were ultimately hurting him the most, while slamming Richmond's coach Damien Hardwick and veteran Jack Riewoldt for encouraging his ultra-aggressive approach.

“He has played great football without this being a part of his game. The idea that Jack Riewoldt and Damien Hardwick are promoting that this is how he plays, that’s nonsense, this has never been a part of his makeup,” he said.

“(Richmond have had) 14 fines since Round 2 and six in the past three weeks ... it’s impossible not to read that as anything other than premeditated.”

Lynch brushed off criticism of the striking incident on Collins after the game, arguing that it was simply part of the game.

"It was just an open hand and pushed off," he told ABC Grandstand.

"That was it ... he (Collins) was a bit angry about that but it was just an open hand to the chest, which as key forwards is what you want to do."

Despite the fine, Lynch is free to play in Richmond's 'Dreamtime' match against Essendon in Darwin on Saturday night.
