Reporter Tony Jones has called out the AFL for reserving too many tickets for 'corporate fat cats' ahead of the grand final between Sydney Swans and Geelong.

The Swans will bring a nine-game winning streak into the final against Geelong at the iconic MCG in front of around 100,000 fans on Saturday.

However, only 34,000 of those tickets will be reserved for Sydney and Geelong members.

The two clubs have more than 127,000 members combined, which means 83,000 won't have the opportunity to secure a ticket to the historic grand final.

This is also a brutal selling point for Swans fans that are made to travel further and spend more for the game.

And reporter Jones took aim at the AFL for taking away from the spectacle and not rewarding the diehard fans that have supported their clubs all year.

“The numbers don’t stack up,” Jones said on 3AW on Monday morning.

“It’s got to be rectified, because when you’ve got combined memberships of about 127,000 for Geelong and Sydney, but only 34,000 can actually get their hands on tickets.

“Something’s got to be done, because the average person just can’t go to the grand final. You can’t do it, and it’s wrong.

“It’s actually not an AFL bashing exercise this, because I think’s it’s just morphed into this over the journey, and it’s probably spiralled out of control in some sense.

“Maybe the AFL does need to bring it back a little bit … making it more accessible, giving more members and opportunity to actually go there.”

Earlier, Jones told Channel Nine that the AFL had got the balance completely wrong.

He argued with his fellow presenters that members should get the majority of ticket allocations.

“83,000 members miss out. And you know why they miss out? Because they’re not corporate fat cats that can actually go along and spend $2500 a ticket to get a lunch and everything else," he said on the Sunday Footy Show.

“The right balance is that the members actually get priority, because what’s happened now is the average person cannot go to a grand final," he said on the weekend.

"Simple as that. It’s just wrong.”

Swans aren't fazed over fatigue before AFL grand final

While the Swans head into the AFL grand final on the better run, Geelong might have more in the gas tank.

The Cats look to have an edge in fresher legs given their preliminary final was a day earlier and they romped to a 71-point win over Brisbane.

They could then sit back and relish Sydney's ferocious duel with Collingwood, which went down to the wire as the Swans held on by one point.

Co-captains Mills and Rampe are confident the Swans will be as ready physically as they are certain to be mentally.

"Everyone has pulled up well, which is a good sign," Mills said.

"The best thing is now, it's just back into a normal week.

"We've done this over the last 23 weeks and to have a bit of normality about it again is nice ... nothing really changes."

Unfortunately, the Swans could be missing ruck-forward Sam Reid, who is in significant doubt for Saturday after suffering an adductor injury against Collingwood.

He went for scans on Monday and the Swans say he will be given every chance to prove his fitness.
