Teabag ‘used’ by The Queen sells for $17,741
In the wake of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, those looking to make a quick buck have wasted no time in putting memorabilia up for sale.
One item in particular, a teabag supposedly used by The Queen in a CNN interview in 1998, has sold on eBay for $17,741 (US$12,000).

The seller, from Georgia in the United States, saw a quick sale on the item that was described as “extremely rare”.
“This is the very teabag you might have seen on CNN in late 1998,” the listing said.\
“It was used by Queen Elizabeth II Regina Britannia and smuggled out of Windsor Castle by the special exterminator who was called in to help Her Majesty cope with the great London roach infestations of the 1990s.
“This Royal Family artifact comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the prestigious IECA (Institute of Excellence in Certificates of Authenticity).
“Own a piece of History! Priceless!”
Those looking to get their hands on memorabilia may have missed out on the teabag, but there are plenty of other items in high demand.
One such item is a Barbie doll of the Queen currently listed for $1,921.31 (US$1,299.99).
The Barbie doll was made in commemoration of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Another hot-ticket item is a complete set of real gold Queens Beasts coins from 2016-2021, selling for $51,725.10 (US$34,997.99).
You could also snatch up a letter card personally signed by The Queen in 1940 for $16,626.82 ($US $11,249.96).
