$2,394 a WEEK: The most expensive suburbs to rent
Rent prices are climbing, putting even more pressure on those struggling with the rising cost of living.
New research from CoreLogic has revealed the most expensive suburbs to rent in the Australian capitals, with the top spot costing as much as $2,394 a week on average.
The research found rent prices climbed about 1 per cent in March, and 2.6 per cent since January this year.

Canberra maintained its position as the most expensive capital city rental market - across both houses and units - with the typical rental house costing $743 per week, and a typical unit renting for $560 per week.
Adelaide maintained its position as the most affordable capital city rental market across both property types, with the typical rental house costing $485 per week and a typical unit renting for $384 per week.
Nationally, it is becoming increasingly expensive to rent an apartment, with capital city unit rents outperforming capital city houses over the first quarter, rising 3.1 per cent and 2.2 per cent, respectively.
