Bed Bath & Beyond set to return after partnership with The Container Store

If you wished the home department store Bed Bath & Beyond would make a comeback, you are in luck.

Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy and closed its stores in 2023, but the department store made the switch to sell products online after Overstock acquired the store’s intellectual property.

In June 2023, Overstock announced it completed the acquisition process, which includes the Bed Bath & Beyond brand, customer database, and website domain among other intellectual property.

Now the store will fulfil customers' long-awaited dreams of coming back to a physical store.

The Container Store announced on Tuesday a strategic partnership that would include Bed Bath & Beyond items being sold at the specialty retail chain, the press release said.

“We are excited about the opportunities this partnership unfolds for us,” Satish Malhotra, the CEO of The Container Store said in a statement. “Beyond’s enthusiasm for this collaboration is reflected in the investment they plan to make in The Container Store that will strengthen our financial position, allow us to continue to execute on our growth strategy, and deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers.”
