Australia Post deadline: Final day for parcels to be sent in time - but there is one loophole if you're running late

The deadlines to send Christmas presents to loved ones start today.

Australians sending their friends and loved ones presents through the mail need to get them wrapped and posted ASAP as the Australia Post deadline for them to arrive before Christmas is today.

You have until 5pm to get your parcel in the mail if you're sending it via normal delivery services and want them to arrive in time, with Australia Post extending delivery days to include weekends ahead of Christmas. If you simply won't make it before today's deadline, there is another option to avoid being labelled a 'Grinch'.

You will need to fork out extra to send via Express Post, but be warned, that deadline is also fast approaching. If you're on the other end of the delivery, and worry you won't be able to collect during post office hours, Australia Post currently has free 24/7 collection through its Parcel Lockers.
