ATO looking to fill 350 roles with salaries from $70,280 a year
The ATO is offering hundreds of jobs around the country as part of its latest graduate intake.
The Australia Taxation Office (ATO) has kicked off a nationwide hiring spree, with starting salaries of $70,280 on offer for university graduates.
Applications for the ATO’s 2025 Graduate Program are now open and Yahoo Finance understands there are more than 350 jobs up for grabs across 20 locations in nearly every state and territory, including regional areas.
The tax office said it is particularly keen to hire accounting, law, finance or commerce graduates, but positions are also available in data, design, human resources, information technology, and marketing and communications.

It comes as young Aussie workers seek higher-paying jobs after university, with one Brisbane jobseeker going online to express her outrage over a $50,000 job offer that required two years of experience and a university degree.
ATO acting assistant commissioner Celeste Breen said the ATO currently employed more than 20,000 staff across 15 locations across Australia and there were hundreds of career pathways on offer.
“One of the best parts of the program is the job rotations in different areas. It allows successful candidates the opportunity to explore the diverse career possibilities available at the ATO,” Breen said.

Successful candidates will be offered a starting salary of $70,280 (plus 15.4 per cent super). Once the 12-month program is completed, employees can then secure a permanent position and a pay rise to $78,290 (plus super). APS4 officers within the ATO can earn up to $84,972 (plus super).
The program is open to graduates who have completed their university degree within the last five years or are in their final year of study.
