$300 to $1,300: Energy bill rebates coming for all Aussie households from July 1
All Aussie households will have lower energy bills from next month but some savings are bigger than others.
Lower energy bills are coming for all Aussie households, thanks to a mix of federal and state government rebates kicking in from July 1. While most households will be getting a $300 rebate, some lucky residents will be getting as much as $1,300 off their power bills in the new financial year.
The federal government confirmed in the budget this year that all Australian households will receive a $300 energy bill rebate. This will be paid in quarterly instalments of $75 from next month, with the exact timing depending on when you receive your bill.
On top of this, some state governments have confirmed additional energy rebates for all households in their state.

What is available in each state?
All Aussie households:
$300 energy rebate, paid in $75 quarterly instalments from July 1
QLD households:
$1,300 combined energy rebate, with $1,000 paid upfront and $300 paid in $75 quarterly instalments from July 1
WA households:
$700 combined energy rebate, paid in $350 instalments in the July-August and December-January billing cycles
Who is eligible for the rebate?
These rebates will be applied to all households, regardless of income.
They are applied to each Aussie household’s power bill, not every person who lives in that household.
How do I get the energy rebate?
The rebates will be automatically taken off your power bill. That means you don’t need to apply for them.
One exception is WA households who don't have an account with Synergy or Horizon Power. These households will have to apply through RevenueWA from July.
What other rebates are available?
The rebates are on top of other energy rebates and concessions available from state and territory governments. You can see our state-by-state breakdown here.
These are generally open to low-income households, seniors, families and eligible concession card holders.
NSW announced it would be increasing these rebates from July 1. The Low-Income Household rebate will increase to $350, while the Family Energy Rebate and Seniors Energy Rebate will both go up to $250.
